Benevilla Administers Over 350 COVID-19 Vaccines at Community Clinics

July 21, 2021

Benevilla invited community members struggling with getting their COVID-19 vaccination shots to attend their FREE Drive-Thru COVID-19 Vaccination Clinics held February 12th, March 13th, April 24th, and May 22nd at their main campus located at 16752 N. Greasewood St, Surprise, AZ, 85378.  357 residents from Surprise, Sun City, Sun City West, Peoria, Youngtown and as far away as Phoenix received their first and/or second vaccines in a comfortable and stress-free environment from teams of pharmacists from the Albertsons Osco Pharmacy in Surprise, RN’s, EMS professionals and Benevilla volunteers.  67% of the attendees were over the age of 64 years and 26% were older than 80.  The vaccine clinics were made possible through the cooperation of Albertsons Osco Pharmacy in Surprise and funding from Bank of America and the Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust.

“This type of local clinic provides our community members with a convenient and relaxed vaccine location. This reduces anxieties and fears surrounding the vaccine and makes for a more pleasant experience” stated Benevilla Director of C.A.R.E.S and Home Services, Camrron Anderson.  “We had several carloads of entire families attend the event.”

All vaccine recipients received a free resource bag filled with Benevilla programs information as well as information and brochures from many of their C.A.R.E.S. sustaining partners.  Benevilla would like to say Thank You to Albertsons Osco Pharmacy for their partnership and to their C.A.R.E.S. Sustaining Partner, NeighborCare, who provided registration assistance and free rides to the clinics to those in need from as far away as Glendale and Buckeye.

“In January, our Benevilla Home Services Program embarked on a mission to help create safe and simple access to the Coronavirus vaccine for the sick and shut-in seniors we serve. Through an amazing partnership with Albertsons Osco Pharmacy in Surprise, AZ we were able to extend this essential opportunity to everyone in the community we serve.” said Director Anderson.

“Benevilla is doing our part to help stop the spread of COVID-19 and working hard towards a safer and healthier community for all. Thank you to Bank of America and the Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust for their generous support of the Benevilla Vaccine Clinics” stated Joanne Thomson, Benevilla President and CEO.
