West Valley, AZ – Benevilla, the West Valley’s premier family services nonprofit, has joined Arizona Gives Day 2019, a grassroots, statewide day of giving. This event invites Arizonans to support their favorite nonprofit causes by visiting azgives.org and donating on either April 2nd or scheduling their gift in advance to be processed on April 2nd.
Hosted by the Alliance of Arizona Nonprofits and Arizona Grantmakers Forum and presented by FirstBank, Arizona Gives Day is a single day of giving each year that has raised $13.4 million for Arizona nonprofits since 2013. On April 2nd, the public is asked to “Invest in Arizona” by giving to organizations, like Benevilla, that are doing important work to improve the well-being of their communities.
To jump-start this year’s campaign, an anonymous community donor has promised to match donations dollar-for-dollar to Benevilla, up to the first $5,000 raised for Arizona Gives Day campaigns. Therefore, doubling the impact of your gift. This year, donations received online will support many caregiver support resources and programs. In 2019, Benevilla hopes to reach more caregivers in the not previously aware of its program and in need of assistance and support while they care for a loved one.
Benevilla caregiver support programs include a multitude of free monthly support groups held throughout the Northwest Valley, free “Education with the Experts” monthly interactive workshops and the Caregiver Connect series of 3 community events. Caregiver Connect features expert speakers and local senior businesses who offer family caregivers education and guidance to assist and support them on their caregiving journey.
Nola Harr a Benevilla caregiver support group participant commented, “I have been given so many resources and suggestions on how to help my husband Dale as he continues on his journey, and to help myself with feelings of despair, helplessness, and depression, which have overwhelmed me at times. The support groups have helped me handle his dementia, his frustration, his forgetfulness and him not remembering me or our family. I am so grateful!”
