Benevilla Celebrates Second Responders Day September 1st

September 13, 2021

Benevilla, the West Valley’s premier nonprofit is proud to have celebrated September 1, 2021, as a day to recognize their agency second responders.  Second responders provide support to first responders and have selflessly served the community throughout the pandemic, helping support those in need and putting lives back together during this critical time.  The pandemic impacted the entire community causing trauma and suffering to many, and second responders, including both staff and volunteers have risked their health to provide support ensuring people thrived in the face of adversity.

Benevilla second responders have gone above and beyond to provide vital services to the public.  All Benevilla Life Enrichment programs as well as their nursery and preschool facilities have continued to remain open during the pandemic.  Staff and volunteers continued outreach to older adults experiencing isolation.  In partnership with the City of Surprise they provided meals and wellness checks for home-bound older adults.  In partnership with Albertson’s Osco Pharmacy-Grand Ave. & Reems Road in Surprise, Benevilla hosted free vaccination clinics.  Numerous free programs continue providing counseling and support groups to those in crisis; providing young families with assistance and stabilization; providing assisted transportation to medical appointments and finding unique ways to serve the public during the unprecedented challenges of COVID-19.  Many could not have survived the pandemic without the vital services provided by Benevilla second responders.

Benevilla is grateful to be a vital part of the Northwest valley family of second responders who have given their time and energy generously to help the most vulnerable.
