Benevilla Free “Caregiver Connect Event” November 15th Features Brian Brown from Dementia Care Education

Benevilla is excited to announce their third Caregiver Connect Event of 2019 will be held Friday, November 15th at Bellevue Heights Church in Sun City. It takes place from 8:00AM to 1:00PM. Bellevue Heights Church is located at 9440 W. Hutton Dr., Sun City, AZ, 85351.

The Benevilla Caregiver Connect Events are an annual series of 3 events providing family caregivers with resources and education to help them on their caregiving journey. This is the fourth year Benevilla has hosted these free events in the community. Thank you to event series sponsors OptumCare.

The November event features keynote speaker Brian Brown, President of Dementia Care Education in Goodyear. His presentation is titled “ Aging in America: Taking Care of an Older Population.”  Mr. Brown is an expert in dementia care education and training with more than 20 years of experience in Alzheimer’s and dementia research, healthy aging and cultural competency.

Mr. Brown is a career and technical education advisor for two area school districts and serves on the leadership councils of both the Arizona Alzheimer’s Consortium and the Alzheimer’s Association. In addition, he serves on the boards of the Arizona Foundation for Eye Health and the Fellowship of Cristian Athletes.

There will also be two additional presentations.  Janice Greeno, Outreach Manager from Banner Sun Health Research Institute, will speak on changing the way people think, act and talk about dementia in her presentation “Dementia Friends.”  Dr. David Shprecher, DO, MS, the Movement Disorders Program Director from Banner Sun Health Research Institute will present “ Making Strides Against Parkinson’s – Research Matters.”
