Benevilla Invites Donors to Support Seniors During 65-hour Online Giving Event

June 24, 2019

The senior population continues to grow at an unprecedented pace, yet, the pace of government and philanthropic support for seniors is not. Often, public funding for services and programs benefiting seniors is the first to fall victim to budget cuts.  At Benevilla, we know this all too well. Our many community services and programs continue to increase in demand in relation to the expanding senior population.  We must rely heavily on the generous support of the community to continue providing these programs and services empowering seniors to remain independent at home and age with dignity.

Benevilla is participating in the 4th-annual GIVE65 Event, a 65-hour online fundraising event to help nonprofit organizations serving seniors raise funds online and increase awareness. More than 125 senior-focused nonprofits from across the United States are participating.

While the GIVE65 Event officially kicks off at 7 a.m. (CDT) on July 9, we can start accepting pre-scheduled donations beginning at 10:30PM June 30 through July 8.  All scheduled donations process once the event kicks off on July 9, which gives them a greater likelihood of being matched.  After 10:30PM June 30, we are kindly asking everyone who wants to support the mission of Benevilla to visit our GIVE65 fundraising website at www.give65.org/Benevilla and pre-schedule a secure, online donation gift in support of seniors.  You can call 623-584-4999 for more information.

This year, Benevilla is raising funds for their free Home Services program.  These services provide seniors living at home a little extra assistance to maintain their independence. Services are available short- or long-term to those with limited resources and options and include grocery shopping, assisted transportation, business assistance, light home repairs, friendly visitors and phone pals.

During the GIVE65 Event, Benevilla will be raising funds with the hopes of receiving up to $5,000 in matching funds from the Home Instead Senior Care Foundation®. We are also competing for a $10,000 financial reward.  This year, there are six financial rewards to be awarded to the small, medium and large size nonprofits raising the most money or having the most donors participate. Donations of $10 or greater are accepted online at GIVE65.org.

“GIVE65 allows us to help seniors in our community while raising awareness of the critical need for the programs and services so many rely on,” said Sara Villanueva, Vice President of Development. “We’re thrilled to partner with Home Instead for the 4th-annual GIVE65 Event, and we are hopeful our partnership will ignite greater charitable giving in support of seniors who rely on the nonprofit sector.”

This event is an initiative of the Home Instead Senior Care Foundation® and the nation’s first and only crowd-fundraising platform focused on helping nonprofit organizations across the country raise funds for programs and services benefiting seniors.
