Benevilla Launches Free Monthly Educational Workshop Series for Seniors and Caregivers at Olive Branch Senior Center

Benevilla, a leading West Valley nonprofit dedicated to enriching lives through support services and education, is proud to announce a new lineup of free monthly educational workshops hosted at the Banner Olive Branch Senior Center in Sun City. These informative sessions are designed to empower seniors and caregivers with valuable tools and knowledge on a variety of aging-related topics.

 

Each workshop takes place from 12:00 to 1:00 PM at the Olive Branch Senior Center, located at 13049 N. 103rd Ave, Sun City, AZ 85351, and features expert presenters from respected local organizations.

 

Workshop Schedule:

  • May 14 – Building the Caregiver’s Toolkit
    Presented by Debbie Gross, Home Instead Surprise
    Learn how to recognize caregiver burnout, explore coping strategies, and access local resources to support your well-being.
  • June 11 – Fall Prevention & Home Safety Tips
    Presented by Hospice of the West (TBD)
    Discover practical tips to reduce fall risks and make your home safer for independent living.
  • July 9 – Impact of Nutrition on Aging
    Presented by Barbara Heerkens, PAM Health
    Learn how a balanced diet supports energy, cognitive health, and overall well-being as we age.
  • August 13 – Dementia Behavior Triggers & How to Respond
    Presented by Hospice of the Valley (TBD)
    Gain insights into the stages of dementia and practical caregiving strategies for each phase.
  • September 10 – The Impact of Movement on the Brain
    Presented by Lorrie Karn, Benefitness
    Explore how physical activity boosts brain function and emotional health.
  • October 8 – The Business and Legal Ramifications of Aging
    Presented by Johnson & Associates (TBD)
    Understand how to make proactive legal and financial decisions for the future.
  • November 12 – When Bathing and Grooming Become the Battle

    Learn gentle techniques to support personal care with compassion and dignity.
