Benevilla Opens Workspace in the City of Peoria Resource Center

June 14, 2019

Benevilla is excited to expand their outreach in the West Valley as they partner with the City of Peoria’s Community Assistance Division of the Neighborhood & Human Services Department.  Benevilla will office out of the new Peoria Resource Center located at 8335 W. Jefferson St., Peoria, Arizona 85345, beginning July 1, 2019.

The City of Peoria is committed to enhancing the quality of life in the community by creating and fostering strong relationships with family resource agencies like Benevilla. The City of Peoria wants services to the citizens to be convenient to access.

Peoria has been working with agencies focused on human services needs considered high priorities according to the Peoria SUPPORT (Services Uniting to Provide People with Opportunities, Resources and Training) FY18-FY21 Work Plan.   Benevilla was identified and approved based on the high needs in Peoria for Family Services. Benevilla will begin services in the office by providing their Family Resource Center (FRC) program on Fridays between 8:00am and 12:00pm.

The Benevilla Family Resource Center will be dedicated to helping parents prepare their children to stay in school healthy and ready to succeed. With these services directly in Peoria, the local community will have access to the following programs: Community Services Information and Referral, Health Insurance Application, Imagination Station Literacy Events, Purposeful Play Groups, School Readiness Kits and Presentations and the Benevilla Kinship Program.

“Benevilla is very thankful to the City of Peoria for this wonderful opportunity to expand our reach and offer our services to even more community members needing help in the West valley” said President and CEO of Benevilla, Joanne Thomson.

Benevilla currently has two program locations in Peoria.  Their West Valley Life Enrichment Day Program at The Church at Cactus is located at 8133 W Cactus Rd. in Peoria.  This program works with stroke survivors, those with Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s/dementia, and other adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This highly interactive program aids a diverse group of people with a wide range of care needs. Activities are adapted for specific physical challenges to include everyone’s participation. Members have the best of all worlds: a socially inviting, club-like atmosphere with the support of amazing professionals and dedicated volunteers focused on the personal needs of each member.

A second office housing the Benevilla free Home Services Program and the Family Resource Center (FRC) Program is located on the main floor of the Peoria Library.

Benevilla Free Home Services are available to homebound seniors in the community including access to assisted transportation, grocery shopping, friendly visitors, phone pals, light handyman services and business assistance.
