Benevilla Virtual Educational Workshop May 12th Communication and Memory Loss

April 23, 2021

Benevilla is hosting a free, online educational workshop Wednesday, May 12th at 1:30 PM discussing communication with those challenged by memory loss.  This workshop, part of the Benevilla Educational Event Series, is titled “Improving Communication with a Loved One in Memory Care.”

This virtual, interactive Zoom presentation features two Benevilla C.A.R.E.S. Program expert partners in memory and communications.  Jeannie Grates from Inspira Arrowhead and Kerri Lopez from Royal Oaks Retirement Community will share important tips and offer guidance on dealing with the many challenging behaviors caused by memory loss and how to interpret and intervene in stressful situations.  Communication is more than just talking and listening.  Learn new ways to connect with your loved one as dementia progresses and explore different scenarios and strategies to communicate.

This free presentation is part of the yearlong Benevilla C.A.R.E.S. Virtual “Educational Workshop” series featuring carefully selected professionals who can answer your questions and provide guidance and resources you may need to prepare for senior life changes, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.  To reduce the risk of public exposure during the COVID-19 pandemic, Benevilla has chosen to convert all their popular education workshops into live stream, online Zoom events.  Benevilla will continue, for the near future, using the online Zoom format for their workshops.  Upcoming workshops cover a broad range of important topics from in-home care management and hospice to estate preparation and tax savings tips.

Reservations are required. When you register for the event, please provide a working email address.   You will then be provided a secure link and password as well as easy to follow instructions on how to attend via the secure Zoom video conference application. Please call Benevilla at 623-584-4999 or visit https://benevilla.org/community-events/ to reserve your spot.
