Dr. Alireza Atri Presents Updates on Alzheimer’s Care at Benevilla “Caregiver Connect” Event August 23

July 23, 2019

An estimated 5.8 million Americans are now living with Alzheimer’s disease, according to the Alzheimer’s Association, and that number is expected to rise to 14 million in the next 30 years. Benevilla invites you to learn more about this disease, which affects one in 10 older adults over age 65, at its upcoming Caregiver Connect event August 23. Space is limited, so register early to ensure your seat by calling 623-584-4999.

Dr. Alireza Atri, M.D., Ph.D., is the keynote speaker, who will share the latest advances in treating Alzheimer’s and other dementias. Dr. Atri is a cognitive and behavioral neurologist and serves as Director of the Banner Sun Health Research Institute. Trained at Harvard Medical School and UCLA, he will also provide methods for improving brain health and discuss ways you can decrease your risks of developing dementia.

As baby boomers continue to age, the number of Alzheimer’s cases increases as well. In fact, one in three older adults dies with Alzheimer’s or another dementia.  Nearly two-thirds of those in the U.S. with the disease are women, and Hispanic and African Americans are more likely to develop it than older white adults. With families providing much of the support and care, including financial support, for those with Alzheimer’s, this topic affects many people throughout all walks of life.

Caregiver Connect is a series of three free events hosted by Benevilla throughout the year, with August event being the second in 2019. It takes place in Sun City West on Friday, August 23, from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 13724 W. Meeker Blvd. This educational forum offers family caregivers support and expert guidance.

The event includes a unique, interactive panel presentation featuring elder care and insurance experts, who will answer your questions about Medicare and Medicaid.  Over 50 local senior care service companies will also be on hand to offer guidance on home care options, elder law, insurance alternatives and more.

Reservations are required for the Caregiver Connect event.  Please call 623-584-4999 today to reserve your space. Birt’s Bistro is providing a complimentary breakfast to attendees. Thank you to OptumCare Network of Arizona for sponsoring the event and to Lord of Life Lutheran Church for providing the venue.
