Local Favorites Return by Popular Demand to Birt’s Bistro

January 27, 2020

Birt’s Bistro restaurant on the Benevilla Surprise campus is excited to host two fantastic and free live concerts next week from local favorites the “Priscilla Rose Band” and “Colour Blinde.”

The “Priscilla Rose Band” will host a free concert Friday night, January 24th from 5PM until 7PM.  They are one of the West Valley’s hottest groups. This quartet performs a sassy selection of your favorite dance tunes from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s including vintage rock & standard hits from Elvis to The Eagles, Sinatra to Sade, Chuck Berry, Bill Haley & His Comets, Roy Orbison and more!

Lead singer & keyboardist Priscilla Pinches (www.priscillaspiano.com) has over 30 years performance and experience teaching students of all ages. She is currently a piano & voice instructor at Music & Arts Center, Glendale, and The Sun City Piano Club, as well as a member of the Praise Band at Christ The Redeemer Lutheran Church, Phoenix. She has performed at The White House under two administrations.

Guitarist & vocalist Rich La Rose began his music career playing KISS songs in his parent’s basement. He is also Music Director for the Praise Band at Christ The Redeemer Lutheran Church, Phoenix.  Ray Carter sings & plays upright bass in a swinging style, then switches to electric to keep your feet moving.  He has performed with the Isley Brothers, the sensational Mary Wells of “My Guy” fame and legendary jazz drummer Lewis Nash.  Drummer Greg McWhorter is a Chiropractor by day, and a rocker by night.

Colour Blinde, the band that loves to play Jazz, Blues, Latin and more will play a free concert the following night at Birt’s Bistro, Saturday, January 25th from 5PM until 7PM.  Colour Blinde has been around 14 years and all five musicians come from different musical backgrounds: Rock, Brazilian, Pop, Country and Jazz.  They have a unique blend and sound with Erne Barge and Brad Griffin on guitars, Eugene Eva on bass, Mike Sheahan on drums and Hector Valencia, the leader on trumpet and flugelhorn.

Birt’s Bistro is located on the main Benevilla campus at the Hellen & John M. Jacobs Independence Plaza, 16752 N. Greasewood Street in Surprise.

Birt’s Bistro will feature their popular “Happy Hour” promotions.  During concert times there will be great specials on appetizers, food, wine selections and domestic beers. Birt’s Bistro and Bookstore always serves up a fun music and dining experience.  While there are no reservations needed, we do recommend you get there early to get the best seating.
