Benevilla is excited to announce their 2nd “Caregiver Connect” event of 2020 will take place as a live, virtual experience on Monday, October 12th from 9:00AM until 12:00PM. This free educational event provides family caregivers with support, expert guidance, and valuable information to assist them on their caregiving journey. There will be three presentations during this event from local experts on dementia care and caregiving education. Dr. Danielle Goldfarb from Banner Sun Health Research Institute will present “Life Rhythms: Routines for Healthy Brain Aging.” “Navigating Caregiving Through Challenging Times” will be the topic of the presentation from Dana Marie Kennedy, AARP Arizona State Director. And if you have general questions about caregiving, Connie Danks, M.A. from Benevilla will be live at 10:50AM to answer your questions and support you on your journey. If you send a question to marketing@benevilla.org by Monday, October 5th it will be answered live during the event.
Family caregivers can get their pressing questions answered. Over 40 local senior services providers will also supply critical caregiver information to the attendees. They will have videos and links offering expert advice and direction on a myriad of topics including senior living options, home care choices, insurance alternatives, elder law and help with government programs. There will be Benevilla programs information highlighting our Support Groups, Home Services, and our C.A.R.E.S. Resource Department.
Benevilla has been helping family caregivers since 1981 when they started as a crisis counseling service. “The Benevilla founders understood family caregivers were bearing a heavy burden caring for their loved ones often neglecting their own health” says Benevilla President and CEO, Joanne Thomson. “Today, 30-60% of caregivers pass from illnesses related to caregiver stress before the person they are caring for. That’s why getting family caregivers this type of support and information is crucial for our aging communities and their families.”
