On Friday, July 11, the Crescendo Choir at Benevilla’s West Valley Life Enrichment Program filled the Peoria campus with music, joy, and community spirit during their “Sweet Sound of Summer” concert. Nearly 100 guests—including caregivers, family members, and even members of the Peoria Police Department—packed the room to enjoy the standing-room-only event.

Between 25 and 29 choir members, all participants of the West Valley Life Enrichment Program, performed timeless favorites such as “What a Wonderful World,” “(Sittin’ On) The Dock of the Bay,” and “We Are Family.” Their heartfelt renditions highlighted the powerful role music plays in uplifting those living with cognitive and physical challenges, creating a moment of celebration, connection, and resilience.

Following the concert, attendees and performers continued the festivities with an ice cream social—an opportunity to relax, share smiles, and enjoy sweet treats together.
