Benevilla proudly celebrates Kristen Wilson, Chief Operating Officer, for being named a finalist for Nonprofit Leader of the Year at the 2025 Champions of Change Awards, presented by AZ Big Media. This prestigious honor recognizes outstanding individuals across Arizona who are making meaningful contributions in the nonprofit, business, healthcare, and education sectors.
Although Kristen joined Benevilla in March 2025, she has already made a significant impact—bringing energy, focus, and innovation to strengthen internal systems, empower staff, and advance the organization’s mission. Prior to joining Benevilla, she served as CEO of AZ Impact for Good, where she led the organization through a successful merger and rebranding, increased membership by nearly 33%, and more than doubled annual revenue. Her leadership across Arizona’s nonprofit sector has focused on financial sustainability, strategic planning, and community collaboration.
The 2025 Champions of Change Awards finalists were honored at a superhero-themed luncheon held on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at the DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Paradise Valley – Scottsdale. While Kristen did not take home the top award, being named a finalist places her among an elite group of Arizona leaders who are transforming their communities. Finalists will also be featured in the May/June 2025 issue of Az Business magazine, a publication of AZ Big Media.
“We are incredibly proud of Kristen and the leadership she has already brought to Benevilla,” said Joanne Byers, President and CEO. “This recognition is a testament to her dedication, her collaborative spirit, and her deep commitment to improving the lives of those we serve.”
