Benevilla will host a free Silent Crisis of Caregiving education session for pastors and faith leaders on April 22 from 9 am to 11 am at the main campus in Surprise. The training equips clergy with practical tools to recognize caregiver stress, understand the challenges of aging, and better support congregants caring for loved ones.
Caregiving is often present within congregations in quiet and unseen ways. Many individuals begin managing responsibilities long before a diagnosis or crisis occurs and may not identify themselves as caregivers. As demands increase, congregants may gradually withdraw from worship and community life while balancing medical appointments, safety concerns, and emotional strain.
The session focuses on caregiving across the aging journey, including recognizing burnout, preventing isolation, supporting congregants navigating physical and health changes, and building more caregiver-friendly faith communities. Participants will also receive information about local resources that can help families access support earlier.
The training includes time for discussion and a guided tour of the main campus, allowing faith leaders to become familiar with programs and services available to the families they serve.
Pastors and faith leaders interested in attending are encouraged to contact Benevilla for additional information.
