Our programs recently received a generous and heartfelt donation of handmade fidget mats and adaptive bibs. These unique items make a meaningful difference in the daily lives of those we serve.
This contribution comes from Frances Kline and Sandra Banjord of Freedom Plaza, a Sun Health Senior Living Community. Sandra creates each fidget mat, while Frances designs and sews the adaptive bibs.
Fidget mats provide calming, hands-on engagement for individuals living with dementia or cognitive changes. Each unique mat is vibrant and colorful, featuring a variety of textures and interactive elements that help reduce anxiety, support focus, and offer a soothing sensory experience, especially during moments when members may feel restless or overwhelmed.
The adaptive bibs are thoughtfully crafted in a wide array of colorful fabrics, designed to resemble vests rather than traditional bibs, helping preserve dignity while serving an important function.
