Emergency Preparedness

Enhancing our Resiliency and Readiness:

INVALUABLE INSIGHTS TO ENHANCE YOUR PREPAREDNESS FOR ANY EMERGENCY.
PREPARATION ENSURES OUR SAFETY IN EMERGENCY SITUATIONS.

In May 2023, Benevilla received grant funds from the Maricopa County Department of Public Health to help improve the emergency preparedness of older adults in the Northwest Valley. During the yearlong grant, Benevilla assembled a coalition of nonprofit and non-governmental organizations as well as faith leaders. The goals of the coalition were to: 1) become better connected to one another and to emergency managers so that they can assist in the event of an emergency affecting older adults in this region; and 2) amplify the messages of how to best be prepared for emergencies that might occur.

As a community nonprofit, Benevilla serves an important role of connecting community members to resources that they may need through its C.A.R.E.S. program. As part of this mission-based service, Benevilla is sharing these resources to assist older adults in becoming better prepared and more resilient to deal with area emergencies from wildfires to heat emergencies to weather-related incidents.
