Benevilla has received a grant from the Tohono O’odham Nation to support scholarships for children attending Wirtzie’s Preschool and Childcare. The funding helps families access high-quality early childhood education by reducing financial barriers to tuition.

Wirtzie’s Preschool and Childcare serves children from six weeks to five years old in a nurturing, developmentally appropriate learning environment that supports early cognitive, social, and emotional growth. Scholarship support is especially important as many families face rising housing, transportation, and healthcare costs while striving to provide strong educational foundations for their children.

“This grant allows us to expand access to high-quality early learning for families who need additional support,” said Diann Duda, Director of Wirtzie’s Preschool and Childcare. “Scholarships help ensure children can learn, grow, and thrive during the most important years of development.”

Wirtzie’s is a nationally accredited program and a 4-Star Quality First provider, recognized for exceeding established quality standards. The program also features a unique intergenerational component that brings young children and older adults together, fostering meaningful connections across generations.
