Benevilla Free Workshop Highlights Strategies in Estate Planning

January 02, 2024

Benevilla is hosting a free, in-person estate planning workshop with Scott Dewhurst, Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at 1:30PM on their main campus located at 16752 N. Greasewood St., Surprise, 85378. A Private Wealth Manager with Dewhurst Wealth Management, Scott, will provide a general overview of estate planning and common mistakes to avoid. He will also discuss QCD’s (Qualified Charitable Distributions) and Donor Advised Funds. This workshop will help you update your estate plan for future uncertainties and ensure your plans are securely in place.

Do you have your financial affairs in order? Do you remember when you last reviewed your estate plan? Do you know the difference between a will and a trust? What are the best assets to leave to your family versus a charity? What is probate and how to avoid it. Find answers to these questions and more at this free interactive workshop.

Scott has dedicated his career to helping clients organize their financial lives and guiding them towards achieving their goals. Having worked in the financial services industry since 1986, he has witnessed the evolving landscape of wealth management. In 2000, Scott obtained the Chartered Life Underwriter® (CLU®) designation, followed by the Chartered Financial Consultant® (ChFC®) designation in 2016. Additionally, he earned the Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor® (CPFA®) designation in the same year. Prior to founding Dewhurst Wealth Management, Scott spent fifteen years with Diversified Financial Group and before that, he worked as a career agent with Mass Mutual for almost two decades, from 1986 to 2005.

“One of the most rewarding aspects of my job is witnessing the confidence my clients gain when they have a solid financial plan in place. Helping them to achieve financial security and confidence is what motivates me every day. Outside of work, I cherish spending time with my wife, Shari, and our five children. In my spare time, I enjoy playing golf, watching football, cooking, and staying a loyal Cubs fan” says Scott.

This free, interactive event is part of the yearlong Benevilla “Educational Workshop” series featuring carefully selected professionals who can answer your questions and provide guidance and resources you may need to prepare for senior life changes. Upcoming workshops cover a broad range of important topics from in-home care management and hospice to estate preparation and tax savings tips.
