Benevilla Invites the Community to Support Seniors During 65-hour Online Giving Event

May 31, 2023

Benevilla will be participating in the 8th-annual GIVE65 Event, presented by Home Instead Charities, the first and only online-fundraising platform exclusively devoted to supporting nonprofits in raising money for programs and services helping aging adults live with independence and dignity. This campaign is an effort to inspire nationwide giving on a greater level. This year, the 65-hour event kicks off Tuesday, July 11th at 6:00 AM and runs until 11:00 PM July 13th. Benevilla is eligible for up to $5,000 in matching grants, and additional financial rewards are available to the agency raising the most money or which has the most unique donors. Matching grants are determined on a first donate / first matched basis, so please consider donating the morning of July 11th giving Benevilla the best chance at financial awards.

Through the GIVE65 Event, Benevilla is raising funds for their Home Services program helping West Valley older adults and adults with disabilities remain independent and living in their homes for as long as possible. This program provides free volunteer assisted services such as grocery shopping, assisted transportation to medical appointments, wellness checks, phone pals and more.

The senior population continues to grow at an unprecedented pace, yet the pace of government and philanthropic support for seniors is not. Often, public funding for services and programs benefiting seniors is the first to fall victim to budget cuts. At Benevilla, we know this all too well. Our many community services and programs continue to increase in demand in relation to the expanding needs of our senior population. We must rely heavily on the generous financial support of the community to continue providing these programs and services helping seniors to remain independent at home and age with dignity.

We are kindly asking everyone who wants to support the mission of Benevilla to visit our GIVE65 fundraising website at www.give65.org/Benevilla. You can also create your own GIVE65 fundraising page allowing you to raise even more money for Benevilla. By creating a GIVE65 page, you can make a personalized appeal by sharing your GIVE65 page URL on social media and in email messages with those who know you and are more likely to donate because you encouraged them to do so. Please call Benevilla Donor Relations at 623-584-4999 for more information.

If you are interested in supporting Benevilla with a gift through your Donor Advised Fund (DAF) or Individual Retirement Account (IRA QCD), please contact Benevilla Donor Relations as soon as possible. They can provide directions to ensure your donation will arrive to Home Instead Charities in time to benefit Benevilla through Give65.

Started by the community and for the community in 1981, Benevilla is a not-for-profit human services agency dedicated to enriching lives of West Valley residents by serving older adults, adults with disabilities, children and the families who care for them.
