Benevilla has been assisting family caregivers since 1981 with the launch of their crisis counseling service. “Today, 30-60% of caregivers pass away from illnesses related to caregiver stress before the person they are caring for,” says Benevilla President and CEO, Joanne Thomson. “That’s why getting family caregivers support and information is crucial for our aging communities and their families.”
This is the second of three events in 2019 aimed at providing family members with support, guidance and resources to aid them in caregiving. The Benevilla Caregiver Connect event is Friday, August 23, from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 13724 W Meeker Blvd, Sun City West, AZ, 85375.
The keynote speaker is Dr. Alireza Atri, MD., PhD., and Director of Banner Sun Health Research Institute. Dr. Atri is a cognitive and behavioral neurologist who will provide updates on Alzheimer’s disease and dementias. A new and unique panel presentation is another event feature, with experts who can address your Medicare and Medicaid questions.
Family caregivers can also benefit from 50 plus senior service providers, who will be on hand to answer questions and offer resources for home care, elder law and more.
