There is still time to sign up for the next Benevilla FREE “Educate with the Experts” Zoom workshop Wednesday, September 16th at 1:30 PM.   This online interactive Zoom workshop titled “Independence is Key – Options for Remaining Independent at Home” will feature two experienced C.A.R.E.S. (Community Assistance, Resources, Education & Support) Partners Julie Huebner from Home Instead Senior Care Surprise and Catherine Spofford with Sun Cities CareGivers.  Your loved one deserves to remain independent at home for as long as they can. Learn more about how to make this a reality with the many support services our experts have to offer.  Explore the options on keeping your loved one safe and secure at home for as long as possible and what resources are available.

After a 15+ year career in healthcare, Julie Huebner joined her husband Brian as co-owner of Home Instead Senior Care in Surprise. She enjoys meeting with other professionals in senior services in and around Phoenix’s Northwest Valley, to be a well-informed resource for seniors and their families. She enjoys personally meeting each Home Instead Senior Care client. Outside of work, Julie enjoys hiking, biking, camping, cooking, and exploring Phoenix with friends and family.

Catherine (Kay) Spofford, RN with Sun Cities CareGivers serves as an advocate for her clients and caregivers, does client assessments and supervises the caregivers assigned to her cases. She attended several nursing programs and worked in both hospitals and long-term care facilities as both a nurse and nurse practitioner before moving to Arizona. Kay served as the Director of the Banner/Sun Health Residence for Alzheimer’s care and the Special Adults residence until the facilities closed in 2014. She then worked as a case manager at Boswell Medical Center before joining Sun Cities CareGivers.  Kay’s administrative experience is helpful in monitoring the caregivers assigned to her cases, and her clinical experience in both medical and psychiatric cases is a benefit to her clients with their varied diagnoses.

To reduce the risk of public exposure during the COVID-19 pandemic, Benevilla has chosen to convert their popular education workshops into live stream, online video events.  Benevilla will use the safe, easy to use and intuitive Zoom audio/video conference platform to host these live presentations. It will feel like you are right there on our Surprise campus talking to our expert partners.  A Benevilla C.A.R.E.S. representative is also available at each workshop with additional information.

Benevilla will continue, for the near future, using the online format for the workshops. Upcoming workshops will cover a broad range of important topics from in-home care management and hospice to estate preparation and tax savings tips. Speakers are all carefully selected professionals who can answer your questions and provide guidance and resources you need to prepare for senior life changes especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Reservations are required. When you register for the event, please provide a working email address.   You will then be provided a secure link and password as well as easy to follow instructions on how to attend via the secure Zoom video conference application. Please call Benevilla at 623-584-4999 to reserve your spot.
