Benevilla hosted their first “Dinner in the Desert” fundraising event Friday, March 25, 2022, at the beautiful Barn at Desert Foothills venue. Over two hundred community members joined them for fireside cocktails at sunset, a desert sky full of stars, dinner, dancing, raffles, and music by the popular local western band Honeygirl. In addition to the lovely evening of dinner and dancing, there were exciting fundraising activities for the guests to help support the work Benevilla does in the community. These included chances to win raffle prizes for various dining, sports, shopping, and entertainment items as well as special “Gold Rush Claim” chances to win one of two grand prize packages valued at $1,300 and $2,200.
Over $81,000 was raised from the event for Benevilla, a local not-for-profit (501c3) in the West Valley enriching the lives of older adults, intellectually disabled adults, children, and the families who care for them. Benevilla has been serving others for 41 years through life enriching programs and services including day programs for adults with dementia and other disabilities, intergenerational programs, free educational programs, free home services like grocery shopping services and transportation to medical appointments, caregiver support groups, and many other vital community services.
