Caregiver Support and Education

Caring for an aging family member can be incredibly fulfilling yet also poses significant challenges. Family members often become the primary source of support and care for a loved one unable to tend to themselves. At Benevilla, we recognize that caregivers must prioritize their own physical and emotional well-being to provide the best care for their loved ones.

The Benevilla peer-to-peer caregiver support groups offers a valuable opportunity to connect and rejuvenate with others facing similar situations. By learning from the experiences of other families, participants can gather practical advice and find solace. These support groups provide a nonjudgmental, secure space to openly express the stress, frustration, and fears inherent in caregiving, assuring individuals that they are not alone. Benevilla hosts support groups tailored to address various needs such as memory care, life during loss, Parkinson’s, bereavement, and adult children caregiving.

Throughout the caregiver journey, these support groups stand ready to assist at every stage. Through authentic empathy and understanding, Benevilla’s caregiver support groups offer the gift of hope, fostering a sense of shared understanding and support.

Caregiver Respite Opportunity

For individuals who are not currently enrolled at one of our Life Enrichment Programs, Benevilla offers a free respite opportunity at our West Valley location while you are at one of the Benevilla support groups. This respite is available during the time of the support group only and is based on space availability that day. If your loved one is already enrolled at the program, they will need to use one of their regular scheduled days.

Before respite is used the first time, the Life Enrichment Director or designee will meet with you to complete the necessary paperwork. Once enrolled, caregivers must contact the Life Enrichment Program at least 24 hours in advance to see if there is available space and schedule with the Director or designee for each visit. The Life Enrichment Program Director can be reached by calling 623-979-7126.
